Jubilee Costumes!

My brother took these pictures at my cousin Julie's house.  Our church youth in the area -- 22 Stakes/1000s of youth -- are doing a big dancing/singing production at the end of June at the big event center in Garland!  And Julie (who has her degree from BYU in costume design) was put in charge of the costumes for the whole thing -- all 22 stakes!)  SO, her house has looked like this for months...and this is just a very small fraction of the fabric used to create costumes for the big event!

 She is amazing!

Here's one she had to design at the last minute.  This is my brother dressed as Joseph Smith in 1800's attire.

Matching colors to fabric.
I can't wait to attend the event.

Picture Potpourri

Replacing a fence post.  These suckers brake all the time!  We are slowly replacing them with metal posts.

Do your kids like to help with the laundry too?  Ours LOVE it!

Last day of Music Makers before summer break!  (a group of us from church get together and do fun songs/marching time/puppets/stories/treats).

Kiddos got to wear their pajamas to music makers and bring stuffed animal and blankie.
Me with our 3 little ones.

Kind of freaky when you turn on Fox News and see this.  What the...?   FYI:  Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado to form.  Tornado Warning means a tornado has been spotted.

Kayle's Wedding Reception!

My parents have been talking about and getting ready for Kayle's wedding reception now for weeks (months?)...Kayle is my niece's friend and the Miller family knows my parents...I think...at least they do now!  They are in our Stake at church.  Anyway, so my parents 1.  had a new retaining wall put in  2.  had landscaper put in some flowers/shrubbery  3.  Dad built a fire pit and benches, etc., etc., etc.

TA DA!  Here is their backyard!  I got pictures on the day of while everyone was still setting up.  I actually ended up not going to the reception because 1.  I don't really know Kayle and 2.  I didn't get an invitation (but some lady--who I don't know who she is--said to come)  3.  I didn't feel like getting makeup on and chasing my kids around... (I feel like numbering things today.)

OH, and by the way...Del was asked to be the DJ!!  DJ Jazzy Del.

 Trey running up the steps.

The landscapers planting 1. flowers  2.  shrubbery

Pretty!  This used to be sloped with JUST GRASS...that was it.  Now it's level and pretty with a stone walk way.

Preparations!  J loved seeing what was going on.  And I loved the creativity of everything...color scheme, they had a photo booth...for their "sign in" book they had a large poster with a tree (no leaves) and people could put their finger print in green paint (leaves) and sign their name by it and they already had a frame to put it in after it was done.  So cool looking.  I wish I could have gotten a picture of it.

Still more preparing...thus the scissors...don't think they fit in, do you?

Glen Rose Part II

The rooster we got to hear each morning!  Right outside our little farmhouse!  I love it!

We got to go the a State Park and see ACTUAL dinosaur tracks!  Del took pictures with his i-phone, so we'll have to wait for his picture update of the trip.

Breakfast in the barn.  Funny story, we could feed the horse apples and all was fine, but I think the horse was still hungry and Trey was standing nearby and the horse reached out and grabbed Trey's jacket and wouldn't let go!  Trey started to scream and eventually the horse stopped.  I was joking just before that that the horse was going to think Trey's jacket was a big leaf or Sadie's hat a big apple...hmmm...maybe I'm a horse whisperer and can read their thoughts...

I love this picture.  That's our farmhouse in the background and we had that big coral  right outside our door with a little cow, sheep and goat.

More of the farm.  There were chickens, bunnies, geese, pig, turkeys, a dove, and I'm sure more that I'm not mentioning.

 Our little kitchen.

On Saturday night we went to the town square because it was ladies' night in the town and the shops were staying open until 9pm.  I got to take J around and window shop while Del entertained the other two.

There was even live entertainment provided!  A wrestling match.

J developed a horrible rash while we were there...all over his body.  On this day I realized (and with the help of Del's i-phone and the internet) that it was probably a yeast infection from the antibiotics he had been taking prior to our vacation.  So we stopped at the grocery store (below) and bought some yogurt and fed him yogurt and yogurt bites that night...by morning he was SO MUCH better!

On the town square.  We had a blanket and just sat on the lawn in front of the court house and enjoyed the weather.

Bug on the square.  There was a cool star shaped water fountain that the kids enjoyed too (behind her.)

Glen Rose Part I

This is the second year in a row that we've gone to Glen Rose and stayed in a little farmhouse on a farm.  There was a lot of outside time.  Here's Trey and his daddy in a hammock.

 Trey loved the tire swing.

Sadie on a wooden horse with a real horse in the background.

Cute little playground area they had at the farm.

Sleeping quarters.  These two monkeys slept together on the futon in the same room as us.  They both got sick while we were there.  That was fun!  Trey had a bad cough the first night..seriously...coughing all night long (the fires around Possom Kingdom Lake didn't help with that either--the first day there it was hazy from smoke and fallen ash).  He coughed so much the next morning at breakfast that he threw up in the barn...that was pleasant.  Luckily he got better soon and then Sadie started in with the cough.

 Hammock fun with daddy!

Del set up T-ball for the kids.  And that was fun until Del whacked the ball onto the porch overhang, never to be seen again.

Awe Hail!

Our flower bed...that is hail (aka: ice from the sky)...probably quarter-sized hail.

When it hits the ground it bounces up.  You can't tell it here though.  It's loud too as it hits the house and windows, etc.  And it can do A LOT of damage!  PS:  Pictures from our Glen Rose trip are coming soon.  There are so many pictures, that's it's kind of a daunting task...but I'll put them up... soon!

Firewheel Town Center Fun!

On Saturday I took Trey and James to our outdoor mall where they were doing different fun outdoor activities.  Trey loved the fountain.

They had a TRAIN!  (psst..Trey loves trains.)  Okay, it was more like golf carts that look like trains, but don't tell Trey that.

Here is Trey wondering why this boy is sitting so close to him...

 The "conductor."

We met grandma at the mall who just happened to be there at the same time as us!  Yea!  She was such a great help with James.  And James was such a trooper!!

This is a picture of Sadie that I took tonight before bed in Trey's room.  She LOVES Trey's toys!  Today at music makers while the children were twirling with scarves, Sadie was on the ground wearing her baseball cap and playing with a toy fire truck!

Big Brother is watching you.
