Trey & Valentine's Day

Trey dressed for church wearing his suit and tie and "future missionary" name tag. He is officially in nursery now, too! What a big boy!

Here he is all ready for church and playing with a coat hanger.

Trey loves it when Grandma Cindy brings him a cookie! Thanks, Grandma!

This is a rug sweeper like they use in restaurants that I got Del for Valentine's day. We decided this would be good since Trey cries when we use the vacuum. This way we can have a little more "cleanliness" in between vacuums. Trey loves it!

For our Valentine's day dinner I made lasagna, salad, peaches and garlic toast. I got Del some of the treats that he likes and the sweeper. He got me my Fossil bag/purse (see post below) and some cherry sours and a card where he wrote down many of the historical facts regarding Valentine's day. Thanks, honey! :) I got him a card from the dogs, Trey made him a Valentine's letter, and I got him a card too. We spent the rest of the evening checking our fantasy sports teams and we watched an episode of Lost on the computer.

Purse Tagged!

Marji "purse tagged" me and so now you get to see all the super cool stuff I carry around with me everyday! Actually, I just bought this Fossil purse because I was wanting something big enough to carry as a diaper bag and a purse and a church bag and something where if I wanted to carry a book along (for myself) then there would be room and I wouldn't have to carry a bag and then carry a bunch of stuff in my arms and try and handle Trey too.

This is relatively clean because I just got this purse this week.

--1 diaper
--baby wipes
--hairbrush for Trey (he likes to pretend to brush his hair)
--2 books (one on prayer for during church & one with pictures of dogs, Trey loves dogs)
--planner (I'm trying to be more organized)
--red Fossil wallet (I like Fossil!)
--keys (with two Brighton keychains, one with a picture of Chloe in a heart frame with little dangly bones and one with dangly pastel flowers)
--chapstick (Burt's Bee)
--hand sanitizer (warm vanilla from Bath and Body Works)
--Trident gum (I like Spearmint)
--No pink cell phone (I can't find it...I think I left it at Julie's? Really, I'm trying to be more organized!)
--13 Articles of Faith (I am a ward missionary, you know. Thought it would be a good thing to share if anyone were to ask about the church.)
--cloth diaper for spills (Del always asks me, "Did you bring a rag?"
--baby bottle with water
--Dora the Exporer table toppers for eating out at restaurants

--Baggy with cheerios, baggie with fishies and Nutrigrain bar.
--Mechanical pencil and pen (from doctor's office).
--One of those writing pad toys.
--Receipts to Wal-Mart, Ace Mart and Big Lots from the other day

--Animal crackers

--2 toy cars

This is the purse I have been using if I needed to go somewhere and just bring my wallet and leave my diaper bag behind with my mom or someone watching Trey. Now this hasn't been cleaned out in awhile, so now you get to see what my purse normally looks like. Just add all the stuff above to it!

--To do list from around Nov. 2007

--small finger nail file

--dog biscuit (from when we got the dogs groomed)

--Orbit gum, cinnamon flavored

--2 pens from doctor's office and mechanical pencil

--4 pony tail holders

--spare keys

--Hancock Fabric customer card

All About Me!

I didn't take a before picture of my hair, so here's one from June...

I got my hair cut into a bob. Exciting, I know. Ta da!

Before (with fake nails).

After I took them off myself...beautiful! (Sigh.) I got tired of not being able to use my nails because they were so thick...ie: scratching, opening things, etc. Plus, the money for upkeep made me think otherwise too. They were fun to have for awhile though!

A Visit to Daddy's Office

Proud to sit on his daddy's lap.

We walked to Tuk Tuk and ate Vietnamese food (one of Del's favorite places to have lunch downtown).

Trey saying, "Ohhh."
Side Note: That Dora the Explorer table protector (with sticky strips to adhere it down) took off some of the varnish on the table too...that's strong stuff! Oops!

Smilin' at his daddy.

Cousin Marc Comes from Alaska to Visit!

Eating Crawfish Etouffe and Dirty Rice with the Ottes (and some fried chicken strips for those who don't care for Louisiana cooking!) and some really yummy salmon dip made with Alaskan salmon that Marc made. Left to right: Cousin Julie, my brother Shannon, Cousin Marc, Aunt Lou, Uncle Alvin, and my dad.

Mom, Staci, Shannon, Julie, Marc and Aunt Lou. Marc's an outdoor's man and a US Marshall. It was fun sitting around and listening to all of his stories.

Marc, Shannon, and Julie. They would always play together when they were little...so I'd like to scan in a photo of them as kids and show the contrast...need to get access to the photo and a scanner first. :)

We also celebrated birthdays while Marc was here. 3 candles for Shannon, Ashley, and my dad. Aunt Billie, you should have come then we could have had 4 candles!!!

Julie, Marc and Shannon.

Mitt Romney

This one is called, "A Man with a Plan."

I wanted to add the link to MittTV where you can watch Mitt Romney give his speech at CPAC where he so eloquently talks of America's current issues and the future of our country. He also announces the suspension of his campaign for President and why. Beware, you'll cry. How moving and selfless. It's 21 minutes long, but worth watching. What a great man and leader. People are saying it's one of his best speeches yet (although I think his Faith in America speech was very good too, and one of his best). WE LOVE YOU MITT!

http://mittromney.permissiontv.com/index.html

Here's text from the end of his speech:

"I disagree with Senator McCain on a number of issues, as you know. But I agree with him on doing whatever it takes to be successful in Iraq, on finding and executing Osama bin Laden, and on eliminating Al Qaeda and terror. If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

"This is not an easy decision for me. I hate to lose. My family, my friends and our supporters – many of you right here in this room – have given a great deal to get me where I have a shot at becoming President.
If this were only about me, I would go on. But I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, I feel I must now stand aside, for our party and for our country.

"I will continue to stand for conservative principles. I will fight alongside you for all the things we believe in. And one of those things is that we cannot allow the next President of the United States to retreat in the face evil extremism.

"It is the common task of each generation – and the burden of liberty – to preserve this country, expand its freedoms and renew its spirit so that its noble past is prologue to its glorious future.

"To this task, accepting this burden, we are all dedicated, and I firmly believe, by the providence of the Almighty, that we will succeed beyond our fondest hope. America must remain, as it has always been, the hope of the Earth.

"Thank you, and God bless America." --Governor Mitt Romney

Glenn Beck's Tribute to President Hinckley

I came across the following video clip of Glenn Beck's tribute to President Hinckley. I just thought I'd pass it on so you could check it out (this is my first attempt to embed a video...hopefully it works!).

Big Brother is watching you.
